This Rambler Special features several upgrades- It is made with a 12" Brass-Spun Rim (all American-made hardware by Balsam Banjoworks) and Walnut Neck. The 12" Rim and softer metal gives this banjo a little warmer tone, while maintaining sustain and projection.  Another upgrade to this banjo is the Pisgah Hawk Tail tailpiece which allows for more downward pressure on the bridge so that there is better clarity on each note.  Additional upgrades include the following: Frailing S-Scoop on Neck, Banjo spikes installed at frets 7/9/10, AND handmade Walnut "Armadillo Armrest".
