Kristin Thompson,
Owner
Kristin has been living her dream come true as an owner to this unique and independent music store since 2016. She began taking guitar lessons as a kid from Tom Pickett's Music Center in Columbus, Indiana, but really found her passion in the banjo with instructor and former Weed Patch owner, Kara Barnard. With Kara's excellent instruction, Kristin was able to learn and improve her pickin' skills. Kristin comes from a family of bluegrass pickers, square dance callers, and foot stompers, and some of her favorite memories include pickin' her banjo while her 90-year old grandmother sang along!! What is your favorite instrument to play and why?
Probably ukulele, but banjo is slowly catching up. Both of them are just such fun, bright instruments.
If we had a staff talent show, what surprising talent would you show off?
Does mouth trumpet count as an instrument? I’m also a really good whistler.

Banjo!
If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
I’ve never bought a lottery ticket, but…I’d fund an activity program for local youth, something fun and educational for the kids to do.

What is the most unique musical instrument that you have in your personal collection?
Probably a balalaika, but my favorite musical instrument in my collection is my Ome North Star Banjo.
What is the strangest job that you have ever had?
When I was 11 years old I stripped furniture on the weekends all by myself!
