John Huron of Bristol, Tennessee started building banjos in an attempt to create an authentic Civil War era fretless banjo and to preserve the heritage of Appalachian instruments and music. For over 25 years John made many of these Appalachian style fretless banjo and developed quite the name for himself. This Appalachian Mountain Banjo was made with designs from Stanley Hicks of North Carolina and features a solid cherry wood, groundhog head, and geared tuners. It includes the hardcase and a strap.
